Just a heads up
Anyone Considering playing on Unknown Skies - servers. Just something to consider.
The servers are run and administrated well. My only issue is just the way the server was just shut down (apparently) without in-game notice.
They shut 1 of their 2 servers down 2 days ago with no in-game notice/message that I saw.
Yes, this is their right as a server owner.
I may have missed the in-game message. Who knows. I saw plenty of other messages but none I recall saying anything about the server being taken down.
Hopefully, the admins will make sure that in the future that there is some kind of in-game notice so you can blueprint anything your working on.
I thought maybe it was down for maintenance and after 2 days I joined their discord to find out that it was just taken down.
The Mod in Discord said nothing about any in-game notices just sent a link to a posted discord blurb from the server owner to @everyone and the notice was at the very end as if it was an afterthought.
@Serrverowner You guys put so much great work and attention to detail in everything else, how did this get overlooked?
Im sorry the Taurus server was suddenly taken down, but The admins for that server were not around to help with the transition to 1.2. So it fell on me, along with all the other servers. It was my decision to shut it down as it could no longer be properly maintained, and eleon made this update complicated. If you need something from it, I can start it back up so you can recover your bp's but I just dont have time to manage 2 Empyrion servers Solo. Normally I dont just suddenly shut down servers, but with this update they wrecked the mods (On a minor update, they broke mod compatibility for any mod using yaml). On top of that the modder decided to begin charging 40$ a month for 3 of his mods. I cant imagine paying 40$ a month for a server that only hosts 4 people.
It would also be helpful if you posted on the correct server link, not on an active one. This is our MAIN server and was clearly NOT shut down. People can see that.

My Apologies. There seems to be no way to remove this and add to the correct Server.
I loved playing on your server.
My issue was with the fact that there was no heads up or server message. Just Boom gone. I Understand you are understaffed and monetarily strapped. Sorry that things are tough for you at this time. I too have run a Service based business now in Florida for 13 years. Time is valuable to everyone. I could have started on a new server the day you shut it down, instead, I waited thinking there was maintenance or some other issue not knowing the server would not be back up. No hard feelings just posting a heads up so people can be aware if that is in fact how you plan on canceling servers in the future people will be prepared if reading this. please feel free to remove this message if you feel I am being unfair. I hold no ill will just was just a bit frustrated at the inconvenience. Going to drop a donation to you sir hope it helps you out. I 100% understand. I have helped a hand full of player groups recover from lost servers :( This wasnt an easy decision. Eleon kind of forced our hand with a lack of accurate patch notes. Enough changed that we were forced to close it due to, like I said, not having admins to properly update the server. For now, Taurus is closed (Not permanently) so we can re-tool it with a new map, correct settings, and hopefully some new staff.
Ah Historical research - besides the fact that I am a habitual necromancer of threads - so few look back, but one must. It is hard to invest what little I have on a game. Thank You Chilimeat - for there are many servers - but you deliver.
